A Residential Tenant’s Guide to Receivership
Banking & Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI), together with its members, has prepared an information leaflet for residential tenants on receiverships. The information leaflet is intended to provide general guidance to tenants of a property where a bank or financial institution has appointed a receiver over the property in which the tenant lives. The leaflet explains what a receiver is, the role of a receiver and sets out answers to questions that a tenant may have in a situation where a receiver has been appointed to the property in which the tenant lives.
It is important to note that the law on receivers is complex and is not the same in all countries. The leaflet does not purport to give legal advice. If legal advice is required, it is recommended that a solicitor or advisory body be consulted. A number of useful contacts are provided at the end of the leaflet.
